Mylk Custard Tarts

This recipe is a special treat for anyone who loves custard but can't stomach dairy or egg (as this recipe is free of both). Dairy and egg intolerances are both very common in people with eczema so this recipe was created to cater for people with skin disorders but of course anyone can try it. The recipe is also classed as low salicylate and low amine, so it's ideal for people with multiple chemical sensitivities, eczema, TSW, psoriasis and other types of skin inflammation that may require a low chemical (low salicylate) diet. Vegan Anzac Biscuits

Vegan Anzac Biscuits

This recipe is a delicious dairy-free version of an Australian classic, from The Eczema Diet book. The recipe is vegan-friendly and contains less sugar and more wholemeal goodness than the conventional recipe. I'm not a big consumer of sweet foods but I love having an Anzac Biscuit with a cup of carob tea. My mother makes these every time we visit her in Queensland. Caramelized Leek Sauce

Caramelized Leek Sauce

Dairy-free, gluten-free, wheat-free, vegan, salicylate-free, amine-free.  This recipe is a family favourite. The leftovers always go missing from the refrigerator the next day as my daughter eats it straight from the jar. Sauces and eczema One thing most eczema sufferers miss (especially while on the Eczema Diet) is sauce. Why no sauce? Because regular sauces are loaded with itch promoting ingredients. And if you are like most eczema sufferers you don't want to itch, right? Sauce ingredients that worsen eczema dairy/cream (pro-inflammatory, lactose, natural animal hormones such as estrogens, antibiotic residues) tomato (MSG) soy sauce/tamari (hidden MSG) vinegar (all types contain...

Carob Mylk Tea

Carob is a great chocolate-free substitute that is good for the skin. It’s a rich source of calcium and it’s salicylate free. As always, if you react to an ingredient then avoid it but if you are fine with carob here are some great products (note this is not a sponsored blog post, just info). Note: carob contains tannins and a few people are sensitive to tannins. This is another company which has similar products. Ingredients 1 teaspoon carob powder 1 teaspoon (or to taste) with rice malt syrup or ½ teaspoon maple syrup rice milk 1 scoop Skin Friend PM...
